Bio

Mr. Mallon is a PhD student in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. Prior to beginning the PhD program at UC Davis, he worked as a robotics engineer at Intelligrated Systems. At Intelligrated Systems, Kevin designing robot cells for industrial automation and assisted in research and development of new automation products, contributing expertise in structural and dynamical analysis. His research at UC Davis focuses on improving the efficiency and lifespan of electric and hybrid-electric powertrains through advanced energy management strategies and technology applications, and involves modeling and simulation of complex dynamic systems, such as combustion engines, electric motors, lithium-ion batteries, ultracapacitors, and photovoltaic modules. Kevin's research interests include modeling, simulation, and control of dynamic systems, ground vehicle dynamics and control, structural dynamics and vibrations, robotics, and robust and optimal control.
